Data You Give Us Directly
Search Queries
A name or location entered in a search tool is sent directly to the outside company operating that tool. The provider processes the query under its own policy. We do not keep a local log of those search terms.
Messages and Contact Submissions
An email may be retained long enough to answer it. It remains within our organization unless disclosure is required by law.
Data We Gather Automatically
When a page loads, the server may receive routine technical details about the visit:
- The IP address assigned to your device
- Which browser you are using and its version
- Your device type and operating system
- The pages you visited and how long you stayed on each
- The site that sent you here, if any
- Timestamps for each page view
Cookies and Analytics
Cookies are small device files that help measure page traffic and navigation patterns. Analytics providers combine that usage data. Browser controls can block cookies, although doing so may change how some features behave.
What We Do With This Data
- Keeping the site up, running, and loading quickly
- Sending your search requests to the right partner service
- Figuring out which pages people find useful and which need work
- Tracking down and fixing technical issues
- Showing ads that may line up with your interests
No Criminal-Record Data on File
This site does not compile, maintain, or sell a database of personal criminal records. It explains how to reach the Brewster County Sheriff, local courts, Texas Department of Public Safety, and Texas Public Sex Offender Registry. Visitor data is not assembled into consumer reports or third-party criminal profiles, and this site is not a consumer reporting agency under the Fair Credit Reporting Act. Government access and dissemination are separately governed by the Texas Public Information Act, Government Code Chapter 552, and Government Code Chapter 411.
Third-Party Search Partners
Outside companies power the search boxes. Their privacy terms, retention choices, and sharing practices govern information submitted to them. Review the provider's policy before running a query.
Links to Other Websites
Links may lead to courts, the Sheriff, state agencies, legal resources, or outside tools. Once a visitor leaves this site, the destination's privacy policy applies. Read it before providing personal information.
Certain advertising partners may track your activity across sites to show targeted ads. That tracking runs on their systems, not ours.
Who Might See Your Data
Personal data is not sold. Limited information may be available to:
- Search partners that handle queries you run on our site
- Analytics services we use to track traffic and performance
- Ad networks that place ads on our pages
- Law enforcement or government bodies when a valid legal order requires it
How We Protect Your Data
Reasonable security practices are used for collected data, but no internet system can guarantee perfect protection or promise that a breach will never occur.
Users Under 18
This resource is intended for adults and does not knowingly collect personal information from a person under 18. Verified minor data will be removed when identified.
Your Data Rights
Texas consumer-protection law, including the Texas Deceptive Trade Practices Act, Business and Commerce Code Chapter 17, may provide rights based on the circumstances. Requests may include:
- Ask for a copy of what we have on file about you
- Have us fix information that is wrong
- Request that we erase your data
- Opt out of certain kinds of data processing
